Essex - Network Changes January 2025

1 month ago Mon 16th Dec 2024

From Monday 6th January we're making a small number of changes to our services in Essex covering routes; 8, 12, 28 & 375 in Wickford, Harlow and Thurrock respectively. Details of these changes is laid out below:

Service 8 - Rettendon Common > Wickford

An additional journey will run in each direction Monday-Saturday providing additional commuting opportunities for those travelling to/from London.

Service 12 - Billericay > Wickford

A revised timetable is introduced on all days with daytime journeys increased to operate at an even hourly frequency. Peak time buses will continue to run at slightly extended intervals to allow for heavier traffic flows.

In Wickford buses will serve the town centre in a single direction loop from London Road to High Street to the Broadway to Runwell Road to Golden Jubilee Way back to London Road. This means buses towards Billericay will pick up from the opposite side of the road outside the White Swan PH.

In Billericay, the first journeys of the morning each day will run the full loop of Queens Park instead of operating direct to Arlington Way.

West Essex Fares

There will be revised fares on our West Essex network comprising of services 8, 10 and 12 from January 6th following the end of the £2 fare cap announced by the UK Government. These changes reflect fare increases that would have happened over the last 18 months alongside the new £3 fare cap.

Service 28 - Harlow > Old Harlow

Following safety concerns and accessibility difficulties around Minchen Road, a revised route is introduced with service via Howard Way, the Stow and Minchen Road withdrawn. Buses will run from Maddox Road direct to Momples Road. There will be a slightly revised timetable as a result.

Service 375 - Horndon > Grays

In partnership with Thurrock Council we're introduced a revised route on all journeys with buses serving Corringham town centre and Southend Road between Horndon and Stanford. We're also revising the weekday timetable to provide an extra daytime journey each way and to retime the first round trip of the day to better meet the school start times at St Cleres for pupils travelling from East and West Tilbury.
